ntiall 30CharacteristicsIn 2009, in order to further enhance its academic activities in both Japan and overseas, the Graduate School of Engineering launched Global 30, a new postgraduate program built around an English-as-a-global-language academic environment to promote internationalization within the school. The objective of this new program is to provide education to promising, qualied students from around the world and to generate opportunities for the students to share and collaborate on research projects on a global scale. The new master’s degree program is designed to promote the Japanese language and provide a platform for both academic and cultural interactions among Japanese and international students. As one of our rst steps in creating a bilingual educational environment, the Graduate School of Engineering started accepting full-time students for the following master’s courses: ◆International Bioengineering◆Architecture and Urban Design◆International Technology ManagementSome of the major benets for applicants of the Master’s Global 30 English Special Course are:1. Lectures and research supervision are provided in English.2. Candidates are selected through an application process. Instead of coming to Tokyo for the standard paper entrance examination, applicants are requested to send the required application documents via post to the Global 30 Oce.3. Admitted students will be enrolled at the University of Tokyo as full-time graduate students immediately after arriving in Tokyo, which enables them to complete their master’s degree within two years.4. Various levels of Japanese language classes from beginner to business Japanese are available.5. The Graduate School of Engineering’s Global 30 Oce, Oce of International Students, and Oce of International Cooperation and Exchange are available to support and advise international students throughout their research experience at the University of Tokyo.工学系研究科は長年にわたり、文部科学省奨学金の支援を背景にした英語による大学院特別プログラムを通じて数多くの留学生を受け入れてきました。２００９年１０月より新たにグローバル３０プログラムが設立され、バイオエンジニアリング、建築、技術経営の３専攻での留学生受け入れを開始しました。その結果、工学系研究科の１３専攻で英語による大学院特別プログラムを取り組むこととなりました。本グローバル３０プログラムの特色は右記の通りです。１．授業と研究指導を全て英語で行う。２．書類による選考のため入試試験を受ける必要は無い。３．来日と同時に大学院修士課程に入学するため２年間で修士取得が可能である。４．初心からビジネスレベルの日本語を学ぶことができる。５．グローバル３０事務室、留学生チーム、国際交流室による留学生に対する多種多様な支援が充実している。Master’s Global 30 Special English Course Global 30 | 02プログラムの特色
